“With Each Word, Killing Me Softly...With His Song”
If you grew up during the 1970s like me, you probably remember the wonderful, soothing voice of Ms. Roberta Flack dominating the airwaves on your AM dial. She had a bunch of great hits, including “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” “Where Is The Love” and — of course — the aforementioned “Killing Me Softly With His Song.”
If you’re planning to be in the New York area on Saturday, September 20th, 2008, don’t miss the opportunity to see Roberta in a rare concert performance starting at 7:30pm at The Palace Theatre in downtown Stamford, Connecticut. Roberta will be backed by a list of top-notch players that reads like a “Who’s Who” of the music business, making the concert that much more enjoyable. The show is a benefit for a terrific, local nonprofit organization — Stamford Education 4 Autism — that supports programs for area kids diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
If you’re one of those people who likes to take an occasional stroll down Memory Lane — like I do from time to time — don’t miss this opportunity to attend a great concert for a great cause. — GP
